Why should your neighborhood join CONA? Because your neighborhood joins a coalition of community advocates that work together for the benefit of the neighborhoods!

Neighborhoods have more power and influence when they join their voices with one another. CONA provides a platform for all of St. Petersburg’s neighborhoods to come together, discuss issues, learn about issues, and take action on issues.

CONA also brings in city and community officials to inform the neighborhoods about different opportunities.

Joining CONA plugs your neighborhood into an informational resource that has proven exceptionally helpful, as well as puts your neighborhood on a team comprised of likeminded individuals with whom you can coordinate activities, advocate for issues, network and build relationships.

The truth is running a neighborhood association is a labor of love. Having a team, you can lean on for support, continuously learn new, helpful information from, and consult with is an invaluable asset to any neighborhood. How incredible would it be if every neighborhood in St. Petersburg became a member of CONA? Imagine how strong our collective voice would be then.

CONA’s mission is to:

• Unite existing neighborhood organizations dedicated to protecting, improving, and promoting their area and to foster the formation of such organizations
• Provide education, training, and guidance for neighborhood leaders in marshaling resources to better their community
• Expand the pool of skilled and motivated neighborhood and community leaders.
• Provide a resource for sharing of information and tools for neighborhood development
• Promote communication and cooperation between member organizations and the community at large
• Provide a forum for member organizations and act as their advocate with the City of Saint Petersburg and other local, state, and federal government agencies and officials

That mission is a clear and direct, unifying theme which guides CONA’s purpose and direction. All neighborhoods could stand to benefit from the successful execution of CONA’s mission. Each part of the mission seeks to bring neighborhoods together for the benefit of neighborhoods. What better goal is there than that?

We want to hear your neighborhood’s issues and concerns and help represent your interests. Your support and participation can help CONA and your Association accomplish much this year and for years to come.
