Citizens Police Academy

The academy consists of eight (8) weeks of instruction. Classes will meet either on Tuesday or Wednesday evenings from 6:00 – 9:00 pm at the St. Petersburg Police Department, located at 1301 1st Avenue North. This instruction is comprehensive, covering a different area of the police department each week. Certified police officers, supervisors, and civilian instructors, with particular expertise, will conduct each topic.

Sign Up For Eagle Eye

Eagle Eye is a St. Petersburg Police Department initiative to enlist the help of community members in the fight against crime. Citizen-provided security camera footage is increasingly becoming an invaluable asset to the police, helping establish leads and identify suspects. By voluntarily registering your contact information with SPPD through this site, detectives will know how to reach you if a crime occurs in the vicinity of your property.

Public Education Programs

The Prevention Division offers a variety of educational activities to inform the public about fire prevention and life safety initiatives. These programs are offered to citizens of all ages. Public Educators are available to present at schools, community events, homeowners associations, etc.
